Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)
CBT The start of your motorcycling! A full days course, which runs through all elements of getting started to ride, this includes throttle/clutch control, slow riding, gear changing, junction procedures , emergency stops and 2 hour road ride, once completed you receive your DL196 (CBT certificate).

If you want to ride a big bike (more than 125cc) you need to pass your motorcycle test.
There are 2 options
Direct Access Scheme (DAS) Category A bike test
To qualify for DAS you have to be 21 or over, take your training and test on a motorcycle with a power output of 46.6bhp or more (normally a 500cc bike or over), then you will have a licence to ride any size bike unrestricted! DAS may not be suitable for the smaller or less confident rider.
We will teach you to ride properly, not 'just to pass a test', so with our all inclusive price you get unlimited lessons and your test fees included, there really are no hidden extras!
Our aim is to equip our pupils with the ability to ride safely in all road situations, and when you can do that passing a test is easy. Of course you might get nervous on test and make a silly mistake, if that happens you just pay for your next test fee, any extra lessons you may need are free.

Standard Bike Test. Category A2 bike test
This is the standard bike test where you undergo training on a 125 geared bike, once you have passed the A2 test you can ride (almost) any bike you like but it must be restricted to 33bhp.
So what is a 33bhp bike? What can it do?
Well these bikes are capable of around 110mph (if it were legal!!) and will out accelerate most modern cars, there is no visual difference so no-one would know that your bike is restricted. After 2 years your licence automatically upgrades and then you can ride any bike you like!!
This test is for under 21s or anyone else who would prefer to gain experience on smaller or medium power machines

Further Training, Pass Plus
Once you have passed your test and have got your own bike we run further training on a one-to-one basis, this could be pillion rider training, or smoother more progressive riding technique, we work on your weaknesses

All training provided by 1066 is of high training standard, this service provides the additional advantage of a bespoke package to meet client’s individual requirements.
Our bespoke package is aimed at those individuals, for whom privacy or time is of key importance.
This service is always undertaken 1 to 1 and has many benefits.
1 to 1 instruction by myself (owner and fully qualified CBT and Direct Access instructor, I’m also on the DSA Register of Post-test Motorcycle Trainers and can train you for the Enhanced Rider Scheme)
